The Beet Retreat, one of the advertising industry’s most talked about gatherings of high-level media executives, will take place at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California from November 4-6, 2026.
Beet.TV’s LA Retreat presents an opportune time for the leading minds in media to address the rapidly changing advertising space and to share what’s new and next.
Programming will officially kick off Wednesday, November 4 at 4 p.m. and conclude Friday, November 6 at noon. We will host a reception on Tuesday, November 3, as well as our annual golf outing and other leisure activities on Wednesday for those who plan to arrive early.
The Retreat will feature a mixture of off-the-record fireside chats, curated panels, and breakout discussions seeded by questions from both speakers and attendees.

Streaming TV, social video, creators and commerce are increasingly colliding, challenging the traditional lines that have defined media investment. This session will explore how agency leaders are rethinking where dollars flow as audiences move across platforms and discovery, engagement and purchase become more connected. The conversation will examine what convergence means for planning, partnerships, measurement and the future of media investment.
Mike Bregman, Global Chief Marketing Intelligence Officer, WPP
Michael Solomon, CEO, PHD US
Britt Travis, SVP, Investment, Publicis Collective
Stacy DeRiso, GM, Omnicom Media
Lou Paskalis, CEO, AJL Partners
In a world of on-demand streaming and fragmented viewing habits, appointment viewing is taking on new meaning. As advertisers look beyond reach, viewability and completion rates, the focus is shifting to whether audiences are actually present, engaged and paying attention. This conversation will explore how real-time signals, content context and programmatic curation are helping brands identify high-attention viewing moments, bringing greater precision, responsiveness and impact to CTV advertising.
Erika Loberg, VP, CTV and Curation, OpenX
Mike Shields, Founder, Next in Media
Payment and commerce signals offer a clearer view of customer intent, but turning that insight into value requires relevant experiences, customer trust and measurable results. Leaders from PayPal and Rokt will explore how these signals are reshaping advertising, the role of AI in connecting insight to action, and how businesses can drive incremental growth while enhancing the customer experience.
Jovan Ristic, VP of Business Development, Rokt
Gregory Archibald, VP, Ad Sales, PayPal Ads
Sarah Marzano, VP, Principal Analyst, EMARKETER
As advertisers face growing pressure to deliver measurable business results, brands and agencies are rethinking how they plan, buy and optimize media. With AI accelerating decisions and CTV emerging as a performance driver, the lines between brand building and performance marketing are blurring. This panel will explore how brands and agencies are evolving their investment strategies and how data, intelligence and AI can create a continuous feedback loop in CTV that drives business outcomes. Panelists will also examine why brands, agencies and technology partners must align on a shared outcome from the start, because AI can optimize, but it cannot align.
Amanda Sheplee, VP, Agency Partnerships, Viant
Molly Hop, Managing Partner, Havas Media Network
Lou Paskalis, CEO, AJL Partners
How do brands turn an unexpected cultural moment into a marketing opportunity? IHOP tapped into a fantasy football tradition in which last-place finishers spend 24 hours at the restaurant eating pancakes as punishment. Turning the tradition on its head, IHOP launched its Bottomless Pancakes campaign with NFL star Malik Nabers. In this fireside chat, IHOP’s Peter Suh shares how brands can capitalize on emerging cultural trends, connect creative storytelling with timely media activation, and translate consumer engagement into measurable business impact.
Peter Suh, Director of Brand Marketing & Culture, IHOP
Carl Fremont, CEO, Quigley-Simpson
As AI moves deeper into creative, media and data, agencies are being pushed to reimagine both their workflows and their value proposition. Digital marketers and agency leaders will explore how AI is accelerating the path from insight to creation, activation and optimization, and what it takes to rebuild the content supply chain around that speed rather than layering AI onto legacy processes. The conversation will look ahead to where agencies differentiate when AI powers more of the execution, making creativity, strategy and human judgment even more critical.
Denise Colella, VP, Global Digital Strategy Group, Adobe
Adam Argnegger, Client President, Head of Automotive Investment, WPP Media
Premium placement drives 40% higher purchase intent than less premium media. Marketers are under pressure to prove performance, and the environments they buy are part of the answer. In this fireside, The Trade Desk’s Zoe Mann VP Inventory Partnerships makes the case that quality and performance aren’t a trade-off. We’ll talk about how premium environments lift purchase intent and drive stronger returns, and what that means for how brands invest and how publishers earn their share. Walk away with the evidence to defend premium media, and a clearer view of how quality puts more dollars into working media.
Zoe Mann, VP, Inventory Partnerships, The Trade Desk
Lou Paskalis, Founder, CEO, AJL Partners
As performance-focused brands pour budget into CTV alongside endemic streamers, the channel is under pressure to prove itself with the same rigor as lower-funnel digital media. This panel brings together the supply-side data leaders, measurement innovators, and buyers driving CTV’s shift from impression delivery to outcomes accountability: predictive optimization, incrementality proof, and extending measurable reach beyond owned-and-operated inventory. This session will dig into what’s actually working, where attribution still breaks down, and what buyers should demand from supply partners in 2027 planning.
Grant Cohen, GM, Atlas Performance, Kochava
Julian Zilberbrand, Global Head of Data Solutions, LG Ad Solutions
Katy Ferguson, President, Horizon Media East
Mike Shields, Founder, Next in Media
The next wave of commerce media is moving beyond retail to fintech, travel, marketplaces and other businesses with valuable customer relationships. This conversation will explore how companies can turn moments across the customer journey into new value for brands and consumers without sacrificing trust or experience. As AI sharpens relevance, what will define the next commerce media opportunity?
Nick Blum, SVP Services Business Development, Loyalty Sales, Mastercard
Saket Mehta, CRO, Nift
How can publishers and platforms turn content signals into greater CTV value? This breakout will examine what makes that information high-fidelity and actionable at scale, from accurate content identification and consistent metadata to availability within buying workflows. Participants will discuss where advertiser needs remain unmet, how richer content intelligence can strengthen targeting and reporting and what evidence buyers need to optimize campaigns more effectively and justify greater ad spend.
Social platforms have trained consumers to move seamlessly from discovery to purchase. Now streaming is beginning to close that same gap, as shoppable formats, creators and commerce data bring transactions closer to premium video. This breakout will explore what streaming can learn from social commerce—and what it will take to turn the biggest screen in the home into a true commerce channel.
Creator marketing is moving from experimental budgets to a more integrated part of the media mix. This breakout will explore how agencies are evaluating, buying and measuring creator-led media alongside traditional channels—and what needs to change for creator investment to scale. The discussion will examine everything from audience and brand fit to measurement, standardization and outcomes.
Commerce media has become one of digital advertising’s fastest-growing sectors, but the strategies that fueled its first era may not be enough to sustain the next. This upcoming EMARKETER research examines the forces reshaping the industry’s growth model, including changing consumer behaviors, advertiser expectations, competitive pressures, and the rise of AI and conversational commerce. The session would explore where commerce media creates value today, where its expansion has fallen short of expectations, and the capabilities that could define its next phase of growth.
